Monday 15 January 24

We awoke to another bright, but chilly, day in the full knowledge that this would be ideal for our one full day in Dunedin ๐Ÿ˜Ž

With Pete having to work, Pam, our brilliant tour guide for the day, dropped us off in the town centre after taking us to Baldwin Street, The World’s Steepest Street (35% gradient)๐Ÿซข

Next the town centre…

Then up to the Sports Hall of Fame…

….then up to a pan city viewpoint..

… before a trip round the numerous sandy bays to Portobello for a spot of lunch..

… next, Pam drove us out to the end of the peninsula to Harington Point where the Albatross Centre is; these magnificent birds nest on the hilltop here after returning from their wee jaunt to Chile. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Other protected species are the Red Billed (and footedโ˜บ๏ธ) Gull and a variety of Cormerant, the Otago Shag (no comments please…)..

Finally, after meeting up with Pete for a fab meal in Dunedin town centre, we were treated to an evening tour of this awe inspiring place, with further reminders, as the sun set over the Pacific, why NZ is known as the Land of the Long White Cloud๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ

Suitably inspired, we hit the hay simply thinking how fortunate we are to be hereโ˜บ๏ธ
