Today is the date we had chosen to explore Doubtful Sound in Fiordland.
This meant a 1 hr crossing of Lake Manapouri followed by a 45 mins coach ride into the rain forest over the Wilmott Pass before a steep descent into Deep Cove, on the edge of the fiord.
At this point, c.3 pm, our group of 25 boarded The Happy Wanderer for our overnight cruise ☺️
Later that afternoon we had the opportunity to either go kayaking or board the motorised tender; we chose the later and hit the jackpot with our helmsman, Gabriel, who was a passionate naturalist/botanist/conservationalist☺️

After mooring up, a superb 4 course meal was served and we turned in for the night…
