Being now 8 hours behind the UK, it was great to hear that, after our breakfast, Scotland had won the Calcutta Cup match, played at Murrayfield, 30 – 21.
Looks like that well known Scot, Duhan Van de Merwe, and the former stonemason that is Finn Russell, both worked their magic over the Auld Enemy…. again πππ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

…and most importantly…

And as the French Canadians might say: “Allez Ecosse, allez…” π¨π¦
Meanwhile, whilst Julie and I were high-fiving, Rob had turned his attention to the not insignificant task of replacing the main “faucet” – i.e. tap – in the kitchen, which had started to leak badly….
Fortunately, Julie, “have I told you I’m an engineer’s daughter?”, was keen to get stuck in and lend Rob a pair of experienced hands on the basis that:
“If all else fails, we can always follow the instructions π”
With great mutual admiration, “Rob the Builder”and his workmate successfully completed their challenge for the day…

By this time Claire had arrived to join us all for the weekend so we set off the local re-cycling Warehouse, where all manner of interesting artifacts were available to negotiate for…but, first off, the essential coffee stop…

On arrival at our main destination, I was particularly interested in this modern twist on a solid oak, roll top bureau designed to house a desktop PC etc…

… however, despite it’s very reasonable price, I was “advised” that my partner in crime was not so keen…. despite the “very economical”, low shipping costs I had quoted…cue for my nose to start lengthening…π
However, said person, did approve of my choice of footwear…π’

…but, rather unfortunately, the accompanying genuine leather Stetson was a tad too small…

With our next trip in mind, I did also manage to find a great pair of matching suitcases though…

On returning to the house, Claire, a very talented multi-instrumental musician, singer and published author, had some saxophone practice to do, during which Leith and Rob drove us into the centre of Gibsons (Landing..), which is dominated by its marina…

One craft clearly had an owner with green fingers…

… whilst some others were looking their age…

… especially when compared to a modern water taxi…

With there being no shortage of “lumber” in British Columbia, it comes as no great surprise that many of the cabins, pergolas etc. are of the “substantial” size…

…one of which provided a potential album cover for Leith & Rob’s next CD…with their guest singer…π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

We ended our breif-ish visit to Gibsons with a wee wander along the foreshore, admiring the homes of the local residents who are fortunate to call this place home…

…noting too that the town named by this man…

…had embraced the benefits of what colourful street art can add to a community…

And no visit to this place would be complete without a visit to Molly’s Reach…

Shortly after arriving back home another dear friend of our hosts, Heidi, also a multi instrumental and singing talent, joined us for the evening, so it was hardly a shock when, after yet another lovely meal, instruments were tuned, vocal chords exercised and tonight’s sextet got “into the groove”…

A fabulous end to a day spent with such a collection of like minded individuals, all encouraging each other; if you’ve never experienced playing music with other folk it’s highly recommended….and you’re never too late to learn…even the tambourine ππΊπͺπ»πͺπͺπ·πͺπΉπͺπΈπ₯πΌπ½πͺ
