Thursday 7 March 24

Having hit the hay c. 9pm and still had, despite our overwhelming tiredness, a few hours awake, the proverbial feather succeeded in knocking me down when we finally awoke at 11.45am – anyone who knows me well will also know that’s unheard of in Greer sleeplore😴

And, as we came to terms with having “lost” a morning, we were delighted to find that, as promised by Edinburgh Airport, our missing cases had duly been delivered 😊

Given it was now noon, Sheila & Steve were having brunch, as they were heading off to the East Neuk of Fife for a couple of nights; it was clear Skye was attuned to the hand that (currently) fed her…

Since today was also Steve’s dum de dumth birthday (and that we were in NZ for Sheila’s in February) we presented them with our “acquired in Vancouver” scarves, seemingly with perfect timing as the mercury plummeted…πŸ₯Ά

They then set off for their wee jaunt into the Kingdom of Fife…

Whilst we had been traveling, Skye had stayed with 9 different groups of very good friends, one of whom was Isla, who had also been the co-ordinator for her transfers between households etc.

So, when she called to say she was free for an afternoon walk, we jumped at the opportunity to get a good dose of fresh air and exercise, especially when Skye gets on famously with Isla’s dog Tess…πŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί

After returning home and having a wee cuppa with Isla (where we inevitably shared a few tales and images of our 80 day exploits) we eventually and reluctantly plucked up the courage to tackle the huge pile of unopened post and the dreaded unpacking…

…and we were most grateful to those individuals who had come up with the concept of “packing cubes”….😊

…whoever you are, you deserve a medal πŸ˜‰

And with us now thinking we had cracked this Jetlag malarkey (how wrong an assumption that turned out to be …) and Skye clearly happy that the family set up had returned to normal, we turned in…

This will be our last daily posting folks, so I would personally like to thank everyone who has followed this blog and made us feel still very connected to you all by your comments. likes etc.

This exercise has been a novel experience for me and has been very rewarding; it has made us reflect on each day’s experience and sent me down some interesting research rabbit holes when I’ve wanted to learn more about the whos, whys, whats and wherefores😊

But you won’t get rid of me that easily….

….as I intend to do one final post reflecting on how this adventure has enriched all our lives…

Thanks again
